An original 'Viking' carafe in a rich cobalt blue designed by Danish ceramist Ole Winther in 1955 for Holmegaard. Features a stylised viking head embossed into the applied glass medallion.
This series of large carafes was auto-blown, but was produced in a purposefully-coarse style, encompassing internal bubbles and external ripples in the glass, to emulate ancient handmade glass. This is further emphasised by the hand-formed pouring spout and the hand-pressed 'seal'.
